Virtual rooming

Having a headset all day long may not feel too comfy. Virtual reality gear is worse.

There are ways to have a virtual experience with your browser that is more than just sitting in a zoom-call.

Mozilla Hubs is one of these places where you can walk, talk, draw and share your video or screen with other people. It’s not exactly a whiteboard drawing experience but we are gradually getting there.

One of the bigger hurdles might be the learning curve to get out of the comfort zone and starting using these tools. First, you feel like a fish out of water. And that’s a wonderful feeling if you can appreciate it. You’re learning and experiencing something new.

Now, it’s even easy to scan your face with a single photo and get your 3D-avatar. It may not exactly look like you but you’re not looking like a 3D stock person either.

This puts me thinking when are we starting to call it virtual rooming or just rooming.
